In a recent report published by The Economic Times, it was stated that the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) has been conducting meetings with online streaming platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime India to regulate their content.
According to the leading daily, the RSS has stated that platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime should restrict ‘anti-national’ and ‘anti-Hindu’ content on shows and further urged them to show content that “represents real Indian culture and ethos.” Notably, Over-The-Top (OTT) platforms and online portals do not come under the regulations of censorship that are prescribed by the government.

Earlier this month, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar had stated that there should be some kind of regulations imposed on OTT platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar etc. and news portals.
However, the question that remains is who gets to define what 'anti-national' content is?
and when did the RSS become the content regulator in India?
