Shiv Sena on Wednesday protested against Bharti Axa insurance company over the issue of crop insurance being faced by the farmers. A protest rally was carried out from Matoshree to Bharti AXA office in Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC). In the protest, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and Yuva Sena chief Aditya Thackeray were also present.

While addressing the protestors, Uddhav Thackeray said that such companies are depriving farmers of their crop insurance by misusing various norms. This rally is to support the farmers and find a solution to their problems.

This is a warning for these insurance companies to compensate the farmers of their pending claims concerning the damaged crops within 15 days,” Thackeray asserted.

The Shiv Sena chief further said that this protest is not against the government but such insurance companies. The government wants to and is implementing insurance schemes, Thackeray added.

Along with the insurance companies, Uddhav Thackeray targeted Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) saying that some people criticised the rally calling it a “drama” - they are the people who earlier failed to resolve the problems being faced by the farmers.
