A blood donation camp has been scheduled by the Shiv Sena, on Sunday, December 13, 2020, and will be held from 10 am to 2 pm at Rajabhau Salvi Maidan, Prabhadevi Road in Mumbai.

The registration for the same has to be done before December 11, according to the organizers. In order to get more people to donate blood, it has become a common practice to conduct blood donation camps for the needy patients across the city. This initiative to organize a blood donation camp has been undertaken by the Mahim-Worli branch of the Shiv Sena and is the topic of discussion in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Moreover, one kilo of chicken will be given to the blood donor. On the other hand, if the blood donor is vegetarian, he will receive one kilo of paneer.

According to records, ever since the outbreak of the coronavirus hit the country, more than 2,000 blood donation camps were being held in Mumbai every month, however, there have been only 1,200 camps held during the pandemic, due to which the donation has dropped by 50 per cent during this period leading to a blood crisis in the city.

Moreover, the officials back in October had stated that around 50 per cent of healthy citizens were able to donate blood before March 2020, where 15 per cent used to donate blood from colleges and 35 per cent from corporations, but the number has dropped significantly leading to a shortage of blood in Mumbai.
