Major social media platforms that include the likes of WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook went down on late Monday night, with reports speculating a global outage alongside a technical failure that has hindered the services of these platforms.

These platforms are owned by the American internet force Facebook. At nearly 9 pm, India time, users experienced outages on all the above-mentioned platforms. They then took to other platforms to voice their discontent regarding a plethora of issues they faced that include the likes of fresh messages not loading, or the user feed being disrupted.

According to reports, a spokesperson from Facebook in a statement elaborated that the company was aware that certain people were facing issues whilst accessing the giant’s apps and products. Adding that they are working on getting things back to normal promptly and have also apologized for the inconvenience caused.

Once services on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp were impacted, users took to the other social media platform, Twitter to vent about the issues they were facing.

Many accounts also claim that officials from these social media companies have elucidated that prompt measures are being taken to resolve the issue at the earliest.
