By Diwali, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is likely to commission the first phase of Uran rail corridor worth ₹1,782-crore. On Tuesday, Railway Commissioner will supervise a trial. Meanwhile, the maiden test run supervised by a Central Railway team was done on Thursday and it is reported to be a success.
The phase I route has three stations: Targhar, Bamandongri and Kharkopar. Targhar is slated to be the busiest hub as it will be providing connectivity to the airport via the proposed elevated corridor.

The station, however, is still under development and will be on stilts. Initially, after the phase I route is commissioned, trains will halt only at Bamandongri and Kharkopar. By 2019-end, the second phase will be commissioned and work related to it is already in progress.
