Even though it caters to relatively less number of commuters, it seems to have hit its chord. However, the authorities have now decided to hike the ticket fare by 1.3 per cent and the new rates will be levied from June 1, 2019. The AC local train makes 12 trips daily from Churchgate to Virar catering to a relatively small number of passengers. With the new price revisions, the fare of single ticket journey will increase from ₹60 to ₹65 whereas, the maximum fare will increase from ₹205 to ₹220.

Following are the new price revisions:

Churchgate to Prabhadevi

₹65

Churchgate to Dadar

₹90

Churchgate to Andheri

₹135

Churchgate to Borivali

₹180

Churchgate to Bhayander

₹190

Churchgate to Virar

₹220

Notably, Western Railways is all set to introduce another AC local train in June. This, in turn, will cancel 12 regular local trains in order to accommodate the new AC local train.
