Railways Steps In To Solve The Stone-Pelting Problem

With a sudden increase in the number of stone-pelting incidents that have come to light, the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) have identified over 100 spots in the railway network where the incidents of stone-pelting have taken place.

The spots which are most prone to such incidents have been identified at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Kurla, Wadala and Thane. With a view to decrease the stone-pelting incidents, GRP and RPF have decided to deploy police personnel at these major stations and there will be CCTV cameras at the other vulnerable spots.
