It seems Mumbai’s first monorail is plagued with a lot of problems. After the fire, monorail services were resumed between Wadala Depot and Chembur on Sunday after a 11-month break. However, within 48 hours, a technical glitch was reported which led to the suspension of a few services.
Following the glitch, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) will now be penalising monorail operator Larsen & Toubro-Scomi Engineering (LTSE).

Despite monorail reeling under financial losses, MMRDA is in no mood to shut down the service. In order to keep its maintenance in order, MMRDA increased the maintenance rates per trip from ₹4,600 to ₹10,600. For now, MMRDA is unhappy with the operator's callous attitude.
MMRDA joint project director (public relations) Dilip Kawathkar said that MMRDA will be setting up a committee to probe Sunday’s incident.

On February 1, 2014, monorail which commenced operations reported various snags and was stopped last November after a fire gutted two coaches of rake.
