New Bus Service Introduced for Ambernath Medical College Students

In a major relief for students, a new bus service has been launched for those studying at the government medical college in Ambernath to address long-standing transportation challenges.

The 50-seater bus has been provided through the district planning committee fund and was inaugurated in the presence of MLA Balaji Kinikar and college dean Dr. Santosh Verma.

Currently, around 200 students are enrolled in the college, which is temporarily operating from a private building in Chikhloli due to pending infrastructure issues. For practical training, students are required to travel to hospitals in Ulhasnagar and Kalyan, often at their own expense.

The newly introduced bus service will now facilitate daily travel between the college and these hospitals, significantly reducing both financial burden and commuting difficulties for students.

Officials said the initiative aims to ensure smoother access to training facilities. With the intake expected to rise to around 300 students in the coming months, the college administration has also requested additional buses to meet future demand.
