Delayed trains might affect promotions of senior officers: Piyush Goyal

Indian Railways is infamous for running its trains late in most cases. However, with the new rule issued by the Indian Railways, this is going to change. The Railway officials have said that if the trains run late, the promotion of the concerned senior official can be stopped.

This has come after the meeting of senior railway officials along with the Railway Minister Piyush Goyal. In the meeting, the issue mainly raised was of the trains running late and Railway Minister said that due to the delays, passengers have to suffer and senior officers are responsible for the same. Goyal said that if the issue is not resolved until June 30, it might reflect on the promotion of the senior officials.

After the announcement, Goyal expressed his hopes that the officers will be more careful in this regard and will make sure that the delays don’t happen. If the officials take this seriously, it will be a great move by the Indian railways.
