Mumbai to Pune Deccan Express Special train to get a 'Vistadome view' from June 26

Almost after a month, the services of Deccan Queen and Deccan Express trains, connecting two important cities Pune and Mumbai, is set to start from June 26. The bookings for which has opened on June 24.

Passengers on the rail route between Pune and Mumbai can now avail of seats in a special “Vistadome” coach, on the Deccan Express Special. 

This is the first time a Vistadome coach will be deployed on the Mumbai-Pune route, railway officials said. Besides, Madgaon Jan Shatabdi Special train also has this coach.

The basic special features include wide window panes and glass rooftop, rotatable seats and pushback chairs, etc.

The overall composition of the train will include one Vistadome coach, Three AC Chair Car, 10 Second Class Seating and one second class seating cum guard’s brake van.

Passengers going to Pune will also be able to enjoy the scenic beauty of nature while passing near to Matheran hill (Near Neral), Songir hill (near Palasdhari), Ulhas River (near Jambrung), Ulhas Valley, areas of Khandala, Lonavala, etc. and the waterfalls, tunnels on southeast Ghat section. 

The 01007 Deccan Express special will leave Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at 7 am daily with effect from June 26 and arrive Pune at 11.05 am, on the same day.

The 01008 Deccan Express special will leave Pune at 3.15 pm daily with effect from June 26 and arrive at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus at 7.05 pm same day.

The train will halt at Dadar, Thane, Kalyan, Neral (for 01007 only) Lonavala, Talegaon, Khadki and Shivaji Nagar.

Bookings for Special Train no 01007/01008 on normal charges has opened at all PRS centres and on website www.irctc.co.in.

As per the Central Railways, only passengers with confirmed tickets will be permitted on board the train, adhering to all norms and standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to COVID-19.
