All the citizens travelling on the Mumbai suburban railway system will soon get to experience uninterrupted entertainment during their daily commute across the city.

According to sources, under “Content on Demand” a media server will be installed in the trains wherein you can enjoy uninterrupted entertainment on your mobile. The Central Railway Administration informed that this facility will be started for local passengers from the end of July 2021.

Moreover, the Central Railways are to receive INR 1 crores annually from this initiative. In addition, the work has been outsourced to a private company by the Railways and is being tested at the Kurla car shed.

At present, there are 165 locomotives present in the fleet of Central Railways. As per reports, work is underway to install the system in other locales. In view of this initiative, a mobile app is being developed and passengers will have to download it. Once you enter the service area, you will be able to enjoy various programs without the internet. Through the app, you will get many entertainment facilities during your daily commute which will include your favourite movies, songs, series and cricket matches.

On the other hand, even as the five-level unlock plan began in the city earlier this month, Mumbaikars will have to wait a bit more for the resumption of local train services. Nearly two months after coronavirus induced the second lockdown, the Maharashtra government allowed restaurants, gyms, salons, and other commercial establishments to resume their services in the city with some restrictions.
