State transport drivers and conductors to get new uniforms designed by NIFT

This New Year has brought in a good news for State Transport workers. Very soon, employees will be seen in a new uniform, as per instructed by transport minister Diwakar Raote. As per Raote, that workers of 31 zonal offices will be given these uniforms on Saturday in an event in the presence of Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and senior journalist Rahi Bhide.

Every year, ST drivers and conductors were given a piece of fabric to get their uniforms stitched which looked quite different, as no one has taken interest in this matter seriously. Keeping this issue in mind, Raote recently took a decision to get this issue resolved by providing new uniforms, which will be designed by country's most reputed National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) regulated under the Central Government.

The new uniforms have been designed keeping the working conditions and pattern in mind, and the information for the same was provided by the employees themselves.
