Mumbai-Ahmedabad commute to get expensive! Toll on NH-8 increases

Henceforth, travelling to Gujarat would become expensive as motorists will have to pay more toll on the Dahisar-Surat section of National Highway (NH)-8 that connects to Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Delhi.

From September 2, 2018, four toll plazas, namely Charoti, Khaniwade, Bhgwada and Boriach will levy revised toll charges. The toll amount has been increased between ₹5 and ₹15, but this will not include the toll booth located at Dahisar, where toll rates will remain the same.

Revised toll rates

Charoti toll plaza (Palghar)

Now- ₹1,850 (monthly)

Then- ₹1,800 (monthly)

Multiple Trips

Now- ₹95

Then- ₹90

Single trip rates remain the same- ₹60

Light commercial vehicle

Now- ₹10

Then- ₹105

Trucks and Buses

Now- ₹215

Then- ₹210

Multi-axle vehicles

Now- ₹345

Then- ₹335
