Travel from Mumbai to Badlapur in just 90 minutes

Good news for people who travel between Mumbai and Badlapur frequently. Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has announced the construction of an elevated road that will cut down the travel time to 90 minutes between the two regions. Currently, the travel between the two places consumes more than two hours of the commuters' time.

MMRDA officials stated that an elevated stretch of approximately 34 km is being constructed from Airoli to Katai Naka, Dombivli. According to the MMRDA Additional Metropolitan Commissioner-II, Sanjay Khandare, more than 30 per cent work for the route has been finished and officials expect the construction to be completed by 2021.

Along with the elevated road, MMRDA is also constructing a tunnel near the Mumbra bypass to connecting the new route with National Highway 4 (NH4).

Therefore, people from Kalyan and Navi Mumbai will be able to quickly travel between the two cities as the tunnel will connect Rabale and Mumbra bypass.

The stretch between Thane and Katai Naka is infamous for its traffic congestion. However, with the introduction of the new road, it is expected that the commuters will receive a smooth passage instead of a tiresome journey.
