Mumbai Woman TC breaks record; Collects ₹1.90 lakh fine in a day

Mumbai’s woman Ticket Collector (TC) collected a whooping sum of ₹1.9 lakh as fine from the defaulters travelling without a ticket. The woman named Jagriti Champaneri collected this amount of money in her eight-hour work shift. 

According to media reports, in eight hours, Jagriti managed to fine 184 people in four trains and collect ₹1,90,070 from the defaulters. During the festive season, the railways came down strict on travellers commuting without a ticket. The number of people travelling without a ticket increases during festivals.

Jagriti started her duty on November 9 with Awadh Express train at 8:00 in the morning, where she collected ₹30,000 as fine. Later, she collected ₹50,000 penalty from defaulters at Tapti Ganga train. At the end of her shift, around 4:00 in the afternoon, the fine collected reached almost ₹2 lakh.
