Mother Dairy is run by the National Dairy Development Board. Mahanand's Board of Directors was the major hurdle in transferring the Mahanand Institute to NDDBB i.e. National Dairy Development Board. The National Dairy Development Board of Anand district in Gujarat had imposed a condition on Mahanand not wanting a board of directors. Accordingly, Mahanand's chairman Rajesh Parjane and the board of directors resigned in February.
