The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday arrested four people, including an assistant director of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), on charges of accepting a bribe of INR 120,000.


In this case, the CBI raided the house of a senior official of a company on Tuesday and confiscated items like cash, two gold bars and a laptop.


The names of the arrested accused are Assistant Director (Technical) Amol Jagtap, Private Company Director Vikas Bhardwaj, Senior Manager Harshal Chaugule and Company Representative Gurunath Dubule. The accused are alleged to be accepting bribes in exchange for clearing pending bills.

The CBI had laid a trap and arrested four people on the charge of accepting a bribe of INR 120,000 through the representatives of a private company. In this case, one crore 42 lakh 70 thousand rupees were found during the search operation.


Apart from this, two gold bars, laptop and suspicious documents have been seized. The cash was found in the house of a senior manager of a private company in Thane.


Earlier in this case, the CBI conducted searches in the office and residential area of the accused and seized INR 37.30 lakh in cash, 45 grams of gold and documents related to various immovable properties and other incriminating documents. A total of one crore eight million cash has been seized in this case so far.
