The maximum number of candidates with records of various crimes are contesting from North Central Mumbai Lok Sabha constituency. The analysis of 'Mumbai Votes' has revealed that Palghar Lok Sabha Constituency has the least number of candidates with criminal background. In the wake of the Lok Sabha elections, the organisation 'Mumbai Votes' has conducted an analytical observation of the candidates in all the six Lok Sabha constituencies of Mumbai, 9 Lok Sabha constituencies like Thane, Palghar and Kalyan and their political parties, manifestos, increase in wealth of the candidates, criminal background etc.


According to the report of this organisation, North Central Mumbai has the highest number of candidates with various criminal records and Palghar Lok Sabha constituency has the lowest number of candidates with criminal background. A total of 27 candidates are contesting in North Central Mumbai Lok Sabha constituency, while 10 candidates are contesting in Palghar Lok Sabha constituency.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena's Thackeray group is first, Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi is second and Shiv Sena's Shinde group is on the third position in the list of candidates with minor crimes like agitation. Also, in the list of candidates with serious crimes such as murder, extortion, intimidation etc, Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi is leading followed by Samata Party in the 2nd position and Republican Bahujan Sena in 3rd position.


The organisation 'Mumbai Votes' studied 185 candidates and their affidavits, nearly 20 political parties and 7 election manifestos. Vivek Gilani, the founder of the organisation 'Mumbai Votes', gave a detailed analysis of the various findings from this study in a press conference in Mumbai.


The organisation 'Mumbai Votes' studied the election manifestos of seven political parties namely Communist Party of India, Congress, BJP, Shiv Sena Thackeray Group, Communist Party of India (Marxist), Nationalist Sharad Pawar Group and Trinamool Congress.

According to this study, after comparing BJP's 2024 manifesto with 2019, it is revealed that BJP has not fulfilled the promises made in the manifesto in 2019. Also, Trinamool Congress is at the first place in giving special importance in the manifesto to the issues related to agriculture, health, labour and employment, law sector. While Congress is at the first rank in giving special importance to the issue of women's development and second in terms of law issues. BJP has also given special importance to the issues of health and labour and employment.


Piyush Goyal is the richest candidate, while Srikanth Shinde has the highest wealth growth rate

According to a report by the organisation, Union Minister and BJP's North Mumbai Lok Sabha candidate Piyush Goyal is the richest candidate with assets of INR 110.96 crore. It is followed by Shiv Sena Shinde group's North West Lok Sabha constituency candidate Ravindra Waikar with assets worth INR 54.21 crore and Bharat Jan Aadhaar Party's North West Lok Sabha constituency candidate Surinder Arora's wealth is INR 40.47 crore.Also, according to the last five years, the wealth growth rate of Shrikant Shinde, the son of the Chief Minister and the candidate of the Kalyan Lok Sabha constituency, is the highest at 669 percent. It is followed by Rahul Shewale's wealth growth rate of South Central Mumbai Lok Sabha Constituency candidate Rahul Shewale with 619 percent and Congress candidate Bhushan Patil of North Mumbai Lok Sabha Constituency is third with 483 percent. Also, in the last five years, the wealth growth rate of common citizens has been only 3.5 percent.
