Mumbai Metro One Private Limited has inaugurated a new type of ticketing system and a new ticket option will soon be available to 4 lakh passengers on the Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar Metro 1 route. 


There is no need for a paper ticket or e-ticket while traveling from Ghatkopar to Versova Metro 1 in Mumbai. Also there will be no need to scan QR code from mobile. Because Mumbai Metro 1 introduced TapTap Wristband as a new ticketing option which will enable passengers to scan the QR code for hassle-free entry. 


How does the band work?

This band of Metro 1 is made from eco-friendly materials. This band is going to be non-allergenic and non-irritating to the skin. Metro has introduced this band at an offer price of INR 200. AFC Gate just needs to tap on the band. This band is available at Customer Service Centres at all Mumbai Metro One locations. The product has been developed in collaboration with Mumbai Metro's Billbox Purist Tech Solutions.

Passengers can purchase and recharge their TapTap wristbands as per Store Value Pass currently in use. MMOPL officials highlighted TapTap's environmental benefits, emphasising the reduced carbon footprint compared to traditional payment methods.


The wristband runs without batteries, is waterproof and durable. Also, this band will be used during monsoons as well. This band is also washable. MMOPL Billbox in collaboration with Purist Tech Solutions has brought forward the concept of wrist band and made it a reality.


This band is made using silicone. MMOPL is confident that it will get a good response. Along with the introduction of TapTap, Mumbai Metro One has expanded its ticketing options to include return tickets, monthly unlimited travel passes and WhatsApp e-ticketing.
