3 Injured As Tree Collapses At Chembur

Heavy winds are blowing in some parts in Mumbai owing to cyclone Maha, which has resulted in a tree falling down in Chembur. This incident has left three people injured. Vikas Pandit, (7), Mahesh Pachrekar (11) and Shivaji Londe (55) are the people that have been injured. Vikas and Mahesh were riding a bicycle when the tree fell on them.

All three were trapped under the tree before the Fire Brigade rescued them. They were rushed to Rajwadi Hospital in Ghatkopar where they have sustained injuries. However, the hospital authorities have stated that Londe is still in critical condition. 

The incident took place at Pestom Sagar road number 6, near K.J. Somaiya College signal in Chembur East on Thursday at 12 pm. Notably, in June Cyclone Vayu had caused a tree collapse in Jogeshwari, Malad and Govandi. All these incidents have collectively claimed 3 lives.
