Pothole Challenge: BMC Receives 1,670 Complaints in 7 Days

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials stated that they have resolved 91 per cent of all the complaints that were received.

In a recent meeting that was held by the Standing Committee of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), it was stated by the officials that they have received 1,670 complaints of pothole 7 days after starting the pothole challenge. They further stated that they have resolved 91 per cent of the total complaints received. 

With an aim to solve Mumbai's pothole problem, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had come up with another initiative. In its 'MyBMC Pothole Fixit' application which is available to Android and iOS users, Mumbaikars can report a pothole and they will get ₹500 if the pothole isn't fixed within 24 hours. But here's the catch-  The pothole should be at least one foot in length and three inches deep on roads maintained by the BMC.

Congress' Ravi Raja questioned whether the 9 per cent of the people have been rewarded or no. He further said that citizens don't even know who they can contact further if the problem isn't resolved in 24 hours. 

Notably, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena had started a campaign of 'Selfie with Pothole' wherein people had report potholes near the area.
