Transformer collapses in Naigaon

An electricity transformer in Naigaon's Vijay Park area (West) was completely uprooted and toppled around 10:30 AM. 

The incident, which was caught on CCTV, fortunately occurred when the road was empty, preventing a serious accident. However, the collapse caused a disruption in the local power supply. 

Residents voiced their anger at MSEDCL, blaming negligence for the mishap.

The city reported 15 incidents of short circuits, 16 incidents of tree collapses, and one incident of a partial house collapse till 8 am on Monday.

Meanwhile, between 8 am and 6 pm on Monday, three incidents of short circuits, 36 incidents of tree collapses, and eight incidents of house collapse were reported.

Mumbai recorded highest rainfall of the season so far between 8 am to 6 pm

Colaba Fire Station recorded 50 mm of rainfall, while the Nariman Point Fire Station recorded 47 mm, Mumbai Central -- 43 mm.

In the eastern suburbs, the Powai received the highest rainfall at 68 mm followed by Kurla with 62 mm, and Mankhurd- 56 mm.

In the western suburbs, Santacruz East recorded the highest rainfall at 93 mm, followed by Bandra Kurla Complex with 92 mm, Bandra West with 86 mm.
