According to officials, eight charging guns, used to power electric buses, were stolen from the depot. The total value of the stolen equipment is estimated at around INR 16 lakh.
The incident came to light during an inspection, pointing to significant lapses in surveillance and security systems at the depot.
The theft is particularly concerning as BEST is expanding its electric bus fleet, making such equipment essential for daily operations. Officials warned that such incidents could disrupt services and impact efficiency.
Authorities have launched an investigation and assured that steps will be taken to strengthen security and prevent such incidents in the future.
