Plastic Ban: BMC collects ₹10,50,000 fine in four days

After the State Government strictly implemented the plastic ban, BMC officers on Tuesday raided 79 shops and seized 255 kilograms of plastic. After only four days of the ban, fine collected is worth ₹10,50,000.

BMC’s Market and License department has raided shops and malls including shopping centres. On Tuesday, Of 5,440 shops inspected, 78 had plastic bags for which they were fined according to the state government rule.

For last four days, BMC has raided 13,501 shops and seized 972 kgs plastic. So far, information report of 26 people has been prepared.
