Crystal Tower fire: Residents are demanding temporary houses

On August 22, 2018, a fire broke out on the 12th floor of Crystal Tower in Parel around 7:45 am and claimed four lives and 18 were injured. Residents who lost their houses to the fire are now demanding corporators to provide them temporary houses.

Many residents who have lost their houses are either staying at their relatives, at their neighbours and some in lodging and boarding.

Post the fire incident, Shree Tulsi Hindi Medium School has provided a temporary shelter to residents whose houses got charred in a fire.

The day our floor got fire, we spend the night in our charred houses. We want corporators to help us clean our houses and also give us temporary houses,” Gunaratne Sadawarte, Resident.
