In an unfortunate tragedy, four people on Wednesday lost their lives in Parel’s Crystal Tower building after a fire broke out and many were critically injured in the incident.
While investigating, the police registered a case against Builder Abdul Razzak Supariwala and arrested him. Police have registered a case under section 304, 336, 337, 338 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Along with this, the builder has been booked under Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Life Safety Act.

Locals say that the fire may have started due to a short circuit. The building was constructed five years ago and it is being said that the builder sold apartments in the building without providing an occupational certificate (OC). With all this, there was no fire equipment installed in the building. Police are investigating the matter further.
The fire started on the 12th floor of the tower and it was under control after almost two hours of tireless effort. Around 10 to 12 people were recused from the building.
