On May 25, Deepak Rane, a Travel Ticket Examiner (TTE) had pulled out Pratik Shedge, a commuter, for not having a valid ticket. However, even after Pratik paid the fine, there was an argument between them which resulted in Rane assaulting and manhandling Shedge. It has been stated that Shedge had a valid pass but the stamp on it wasn't prominent.

The video was shared on Twitter, where it was written, "A western railway ticket checker from Bandra station Deepak Pandurang Rane manhandled passenger Pratik Shedge. Passenger had a valid pass but the stamp on it wasn’t clear, still he paid the penalty. Post which Mr Deepak manhandled & slapped him."

Bandra's Government Railway Police (GRP) has registered a non-cognisable (NC) offence against Rane. Zonal railway authorities said that the complaints on social media are also taken as formal complaints. They will conduct a thorough inquiry and speak to the passengers. The final decision will be taken then. As of now, suitable action has been taken against the culprit ticket examiner.

No official complaint has been registered yet and the authorities will soon launch a detailed inquiry.
