After former Indian stumper Sameer Dighe quit, Mumbai players have put up the name of Omkar Salvi for the position of head coach for consideration. The younger brother of former India and Mumbai pacer Avishkar Salvi, Omkar has been a bowling coach of the senior Mumbai team for the past four seasons. Despite being such a talented bowler, Omkar has never played for the Mumbai team.

Six players were invited by the secretary of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) – skipper Aditya Tare, Suryakumar Yadav, Abhishek Nayar, Dhawal Kulkarni and Shardul Thakur – to discuss the future of Mumbai cricket.
