Gauri Lankesh Murder: SIT arrests another accused from Maharashtra

While investigating the murder of Bengaluru-based senior journalist and activist Gauri Lankesh, Karnataka Special Investigation Team (SIT) caught hold of another suspect in their custody.

Earlier in August, Maharashtra Anti-terrorism Squad (ATS) arrested Sudhanwa Gondhalekar from Pune, in connection with the Nalasopara Explosive Case. Gondhalekar was brought on transit remand on Friday in Bengaluru.

Gondhalekar was sent to police custody for 14 days by a local court. With this, 14 suspects have been arrested in this case. SIT sources narrate that Gondhalekar, who belongs from Satara, has confessed his role in the murder of Gauri Lankesh. 

After Maharashtra ATS arrested people in Nalasopara Explosive Case, the squad received many developments which helped them to catch culprits involved in Dabholkar Murder Case and Gauri Lankesh’s murder.

Earlier on September 5, 2017, Lankesh was shot dead outside her residence in Bengaluru by two people. Lankesh was a strong critic of Hindutva forces in India.
