In the last two weeks, the life of Mumbaikars had been disrupted due to non-stop rains. However, now they can let out a sigh of relief as a report by the Meteorological Department stated that there will be some respite in rains for locations in and around Mumbai.
Along with this, people in places such as Ankola, Sangli, and Kolhapur, who have been grappling with floods and heavy rainfall might get some relief as well. IMD has predicted that there will be scanty rainfall in the next 24 hours all across Maharashtra.

Mumbai and neighbouring areas have not had heavy rainfall since the last four days and that is likely to continue till Tuesday. However, there is still uncertainty regarding rains on Wednesday and Thursday. Alongside, 1.32 lakh people have been shifted to safer places in western Maharashtra.
Due to heavy rainfall in the area, commuters travelling from Mumbai to Pune or vice versa have to resort to travelling via road transport services. This is because Central Railways is either cancelling or terminating trains between Mumbai and Pune. This has been happening for a while now. There were indications that the route will be opened for the commuters over the weekend but now the officials are suggesting that it might continue to stay shut till August 15.
That being said, it is expected one may soon witness good rainfall in Delhi and other Northern regions.
