Aaditya Thackeray on BKC modular hospital: The speed and scale of construction have been mind-boggling

It is a well-known fact that BMC is working round the clock to construct a massive modular hospital in Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC). Recently, Shiv Sena MLA Aaditya Thackeray shared a picture of this complex. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had earlier asked the MMRDA to construct a hospital in BKC.

Thackeray speaking about the hospital on social media stated that he has been witnessing the construction of the hospital from scratch. He stated that the speed and scale of this construction have been mind-boggling adding that, this simply gives an understanding of the gravity of this pandemic.

Aaditya Thackeray further notified netizens of the commodities announcing that there are 1020 beds in the first wing with almost 250 beds of oxygen supply and the same for high dependency beds. He added that the modular ICU unit from NSCI Dome will be replicated to build a jumbo ICU as well in another unit of the same facility.

Saluting the frontline warriors, the doctors, medical staff, police and others, Thackeray signed off stating that those affected by the corona are in his prayers, requesting people to further take care of themselves.

In recent developments, Aaditya Thackeray had announced on Twitter that one-rupee clinic teams were conducting fever screenings at 1360 rooms at the BDD chawls in Worli. This further helped identify 52 suspected cases to undertake quarantine measures. Thackeray had initiated the ‘1 Rupee Clinic’ to be started across the state to provide health check-up for Rs 1, under which 200 different types of diseases would be screened. This would help the people living below the poverty section of the society to avail tests to further treat the contagious disease.

As coronavirus cases continue to rise at an increasing rate in Mumbai and Pune, the Maharashtra cabinet, on Thursday, reportedly mulled the extension of the lockdown in the most-affected areas of the state. In a meeting chaired by Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray along with six other ministers, voiced for lockdown relaxations to be provided in areas apart from red zones and containment zones in the state. However, the cabinet was of the opinion that lockdown in the most affected areas, especially Mumbai and Pune, should be extended until May 31.
