Although Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Ram Kadam has apologised for misogynistic remarks that he made during Dahi Handi celebration in Ghatkopar, it seems like some people are not convinced. Seeking action against Kadam, two petitions have been filed in Bombay High Court until now.
Pune Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) woman President Rupali Chakankar and Bhim Army worker Neha Shinde, both have filed a petition against Ram Kadam in Bombay High Court.

Kadam’s remarks led to a huge uproar and invited a lot of criticism from the opposition parties. However, while the issue was intensified, BJP never made any official statement over the same.
Earlier, women activists from opposition parties protested outside the BJP MLA’s residence and outside Ghatkopar Police station demanding the police to arrest him for his lewd remarks. Under pressure, the police registered a Non-Cognizable Offence against Kadam.
