On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Tuesday organised a protest against the current policies of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Maharashtra and centre. NCP claimed that the centre and state government's foul play has hampered the democratic norms of the country.

While protesting, NCP leaders said that the independence, democracy, and constitutional sovereignty given to India by Mahatma Gandhi is under threat due to the hostile policies of Narendra Modi government. The protest was organised under the leadership of Maharashtra NCP chief Jayant Patil.
NCP leaders carried out their protest in front of Mahatma Gandhi’s statue near Mantralaya. Along with Patil, MLA Ajit Pawar, NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal, Maharashtra Assembly Opposition leader Dhananjay Munde, NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik, Mumbai NCP President Sachin Ahir participated in the protest against the central government.

This protest happened after NCP supremo Sharad Pawar said that he will never support Narendra Modi and demanded Prime Minister Modi to justify the Rafale Deal row.
