Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Maharashtra legislative assembly and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday launched a book – “Arthsankalp: Sopya Bhashet” (Budget: Easy Language).

The former Maharashtra Chief Minister invited the current CM Uddhav Thackeray to release his book which explores the modalities of the budget-making and aims to explain the same in an easy language. The book by Devendra Fadnavis has been published in Marathi.

Along with CM Uddhav Thackeray, other leaders from the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government including Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Nana Patole, Legislative Council Chairman Ramraje Naik Nimbalkar, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, LoP in council Pravin Darekar were also present at the book launch.

While speaking at the book release, Uddhav Thackeray took a sly dig at Fadnavis saying that he should continue writing such book on the budget presented by the MVA government for the coming 5-10 years.

“I am not an expert on budget. You wrote a book on budget even before we (MVA government) present our first budget. You should keep writing such books on budget for the next 5-10 years,” said Uddhav Thackeray.

“This would help us understand our shortcomings,” Thackeray sarcastically stated.

Furthermore, CM Uddhav Thackeray took a dig at the BJP government in centre wondering why demonetisation never found mention in the following budgets.

“I always wonder if demonetisation was a success, shouldn’t it have found mention in the budgets. We mention even smaller things in the same,” said Uddhav Thackeray.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Nana Patole said that Fadnavis’ talent as an opposition leader has “blossomed” and he should keep up the good work.
