Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray's father-in-law passes away due to prolonged illness

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s father-in-law, Madhav Patankar passed away. Reports state that he died on June 14, 2020,  due to old-age. He was 78 and undergoing treatment for prolonged illness at Andheri's Criticare Hospital.

Patankar lived close to Matoshree in Mumbai and ran his family business.

Uddhav Thackeray is married to Madhav Patankar's daughter Rashmi who became the editor of Saamana in November 2019, when he took oath as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

NCP leader Supriya Sule took to Twitter to share condolences. She wrote, “Deeply Saddened to hear to about the demise of Shri. Madhav Patankar - Father of Mrs. Rashmi Uddhav Thackeray. My Heartfelt Condolences. May He rest in peace. My Thoughts and Prayers with the Patankar and Thackeray Family.”
