Opposition should unite against ruling party: Sharad Pawar

Ahead of Maharashtra and general assembly elections, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar targeted the ruling government and said that the present scenario of the country has become like 1977. 

Earlier in 1977, during the elections after the emergency, Indira Gandhi was thrown out of power by the united opposition. Pawar said that in the present times the opposition parties have started the coalition to defeat BJP implying that 1977 can repeat again if the all the opposition stands united against the ruling government in the elections.

After Indira Gandhi imposed emergency in the country, the opposition got together and protested against her regime, Pawar informed. 

While taking on the central government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Pawar said that the present government also works on the orders of only one person. He asserted that the opposition parties shall join hands with each other once again to defeat the ruling party like it happened in the year 1997.
