Amid the farmers' protest across the country and in Maharashtra, the former Union Agriculture Minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar appealed the farmers to take an extreme stand against the government as it is no mood to fulfil the promises made.

Pawar said that “Being a farmer myself, I support the strike,” urging the society to understand and support farmers’ demands.

The farmers all across the country have been agitating and protesting against the government for its failure at the policy level by pouring milk and vegetables on the road. Reacting to this, Pawar asserted that farmers should not waste the milk and vegetables while agitating.

Pawar further added that the farmers should share their production with the people rather than wasting it and should think about the poor and general public before wasting their items. Don’t agitate to give create troubles for the general public, he asserted.

Speaking on the recent by-elections, Pawar said that even though the BJP won the Palghar Lok Sabha bypoll, the real picture shows that people are against them. He also said that the election commission officials who favour the government shall be removed from the administration.

However, it is not a big deal for the ruling party to win one seat out of 10 in the country. Pawar said that if all the opponents were united against BJP, he would be happy to participate.
