Shiv Sena to organise Bal Thackeray memorial puja on November 17

On the account of late Shiv Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray’s six death anniversary, Shiv Sena is planning to conduct Bhoomi Pujan on November 17.

On Tuesday, Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray and other key Sena leaders met Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Ajoy Mehta and other civic officials at the Mayor’s bungalow at Shivaji Park to discuss the ceremony of the memorial, which is to come up at the Mayor's bungalow.

Thackeray wants the memorial to be officially flagged off before he visits Ayodhya in connection with the Ram temple issue. Recently, Congress, NCP, and MNS criticised Thackeray for taking up the temple construction issue and ignoring his father's memorial. He is to visit Ayodhya on November 25.
