The Maharashtra Maritime Board (MMB) and the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) in a recently shared announcement informed that the city if Thane will see a new floating hotel at the bay. As per reports, this floating hotel has been named as Sea Cruise, where tourists will be able to experience a delicious feast on the boat.
It is said that the hotel was opened for the public at the Gaimukh Chowpatty on Thane's Ghodbunder Road. However, currently, due to coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions, the authorities have decided to operate the floating hotel with limitations, at 50 per cent diner capacity.

The floating hotel is said to have an open deck and an AC lounge, whereby a total of 100 visitors can enjoy a meal at a time. The hotel is well-equipped and hence the visitors will be able to experience fine dining in a new manner. Earlier, similar concept was implemented in Mumbai, however, the floating hotel was closed due to lockdown and COVID-19 restrictions.
Visitors interested in dining at the floating hotel will have to pay INR 200 per person to book a place.

The floating hotel also offers a breathtaking view of the bay on one side and the mountains on the other. Started by a private company called D.C. Floating Restaurant, this concept has been proposed by MMB, and the permission was also sought from the officials.
To ensure safety of the tourists, the authorities on the floating hotel have made necessary arrangements for life guards, security guards, and CCTV cameras. Besides dining, the visitors will be able to enjoy other amenities too.
