Railways to appoint Maharashtra Security Force to manage crowds at railway stations

Over the last few days, the Railways has been working towards making the train journeys safer for the passengers. As a part of the initiative, various foot-over bridges have been closed down for repairs at Kurla as well as Dombivali station. Due to which, the crowd on other bridges has subsequently increased which can turn into a chaotic situation if not controlled.

Therefore, in order to avoid mishaps at the stations, Railways has decided to appoint Maharashtra Security Force (MSF) officers, who will control the crowds at these stations and will manage the situation.

This will consist of the appointment of more than 300 MSF officers at Western and Central Railway stations. These officers will be appointed at the following stations; Bandra, Andheri, Mahim, Vasai, Malad, Charni Road, Grant Road, Mumbai Central, Mahalaxmi, Prabhadevi, and Dadar.
