What will happen to the 'Eros' cinema which has been closed for the last six years? Will this theatre be demolished? Will its internal structure continue? Many such questions were raised by movie lovers. However, the repair and renovation work of 'Eros' cinema hall is soon going to stand with the new look of 'IMAX' cinema hall.
Built in 1938, this theatre is known as one of the first single screen theatres in Mumbai. But in the last few years it was closed. Fears were also being expressed on social media that this theatre would be razed to the ground. Eros Cinemas was being developed as a multi-screen theatre by Inox Group. The theatre will now be known as IMAX theatres of the Inox-PVR group.

Eros, once known as the premier single screen theatre in Mumbai, will now be the first IMAX theatre in South Mumbai. Earlier IMAX was available at Lower Parel.
