Ahead of the upcoming polls, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to increase its 2019 budget. Mumbai’s civic body may increase the budget by 20-22 per cent. The budget may increase to ₹33 crore which was ₹27,258 crore in the year 2018.
This move can help fasten the work for the projects proposed by the civic body. For the development of the Coastal Road, Goregaon-Mulund Link Road, and the redevelopment of Deonar Slaughterhouses along with other mega projects, the BMC will allocate a huge amount from the budget.

BMC budget is likely to present the budget on February 4. Funds will be allocated for the BMC hospitals for repairs and for the upgradation of the fire brigade. Shiv Sena hold the power in the civic body and the BMC has decided to increase the budget in the election year.
