To curb the sale of fake medicines in the state, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has decided to inspect medicines imported from outside Maharashtra. According to this, the Food and Drug Administration has started the inspection of medicines coming from outside the state, and information is being taken about every medicine coming into the state.

A large number of drug manufacturers in the country are located in the Baddi area of Himachal Pradesh. At the same time, large quantities of medicines are produced in Gujarat and Uttaranchal. Therefore wholesale and retail drug dealers in the state purchase medicines from outside Maharashtra in large quantities. Many medicines coming from these states are not up to standard. Therefore, there is a possibility of getting fake and substandard medicines in the state. In order to control the medicines imported from outside the state, the Food and Drug Administration had ordered all the distributors to submit the details of the medicines ordered by them through email.

No details of fake medicines have been found in the investigation so far. Therefore, the officials of the Food and Drug Administration informed that this action will be intensified in the next few days.
