In a troublesome news for Mumbai local train commuters, it has come to light that Harbour line and Trans Harbor line Panvel bound trains are running late since this morning, April 13.

Taking it to Twitter, Central Railways (CR) chief PRO, Shivaji Sutar explained the reason for the delay in the train schedule. "Location box having signalling items near track at Panvel km 48/13 and cables have been damaged and by miscreants. Signalling system near Panvel got disturbed and trains were running on paper authority from early morning. The location box restoration work has been completed at 7.05 hours," he wrote.

Owing to this, passengers faced inconvenience during the peak hours, resulting into delay in reaching their destination and/or offices and overcrowding of trains.

Meanwhile, earlier this week, smoke and small flames were noticed in end wall of motor coach of local train going from Titwala to CSMT between 12.35 pm and 12.50 pm. The same was extinguished by station staff at Thane station and train departed safely. However, the reason is yet to be ascertained; fortunately, no one was injured.
