A massive broke out in Pathanwadi area of Malad East on Friday evening at 5:45 pm. According to the residents, the fire brigade arrived 1 hour later. However, the people staying in the neighbourhood were evacuated immediately. So far no casualties have been reported.
As per reports, fire confined to the stock of wooden furniture, plywoods in the area which constitutes to about 7000 to 8000 sq. ft area in the ground plus one floored structures.

As per Twitter users, fire brigade delayed in reaching out the spot of fire due to sewage holes are digged on road.

It was declared as a Level 1fire earlier but soon escalated to level 2 very soon. Currently, fire fighting operations are on and 7 fire engines and six jumbo tanks are on the spot.
The actual cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
