The Central Railway Administration has selected Panvel station as a 'clean station' and recently felicitated this station. Out of 148 different stations, Panvel station with 'A' rating bagged the top spot by winning the 2023 rotating award for cleanliness.
In 2022, the second highest cleanliness trophy was won by Panvel station. In 2023, the station won the cleanliness award due to the outstanding work done by the administration. Panvel Railway Advisory Committee Member Sunil Khalde met Station Master Jagdish Prasad Meena and expressed his satisfaction with his work.
More than 1 lakh 10 thousand people travel through Panvel station every day. Also, an income of more than seven and a half crore rupees per month from the passengers travelling through this station is accumulated in the railway coffers from the sale of tickets. Panvel is one of the stations with the highest number of passengers.
There are 16 washrooms, 39 toilets in this station. In all the three shifts, contract workers clean these toilets. 37 cleaning staff work for maintaining cleanliness on the station. The station has received a cleanliness award due to its special care for cleanliness.
