Mumbai Traffic Update: Several Route Diversions, No Parking Zones Ahead Of Gudi Padwa Rally

The Mumbai Traffic Police has beefed up the security ahead of the Padwa Melava (Gudi Padwa rally) at Shivaji Park in Dadar organised by MNS supermo Raj Thackeray

As thousands of party supporters are expected to attend the event, adequate police force will be deployed at the venue.

In addition, the city police has issued fresh traffic diversions and parking restrictions along with alternative routes to avoid inconvenience to the commuters.

According to the notification, Shivaji Park is expected to experience heavy rush with vehicles from Western Express Highway and Eastern Express Highway, which will cause traffic congestion, especially on the road leading to the venue.

Several roads will be made into 'no-parking' zones and entry of motorists will also be prohibited. Police have also set up temporary parking spaces for vehicles coming from outside the city.

According to Mumbai traffic police, parking will be forbidden on seven roads leading to Shivaji Park, and traffic will be redirected to others.

Changes in traffic are as follows:

1. SVS Road – Siddhivinayak Temple to Yes Bank Junction

For alternative route, take a right turn from Siddhivinayak Mandir Junction to S.K, Bole Road, Agar Bazar-Portuguese Church, take a left turn towards Gokhale Road – LJ Road.

2. Raja Badhe Chowk to Keluskar Road – South and North

Alternate route is LJ Road – Gokhale Road – Steel Man Junction and then turn right to SVS Road.

3. M.B. Raut Marg

An alternate route is to go via Raja Bade Junction towards LJ Road. Instead of going via Gadkari Junction to Keluskar Road (South and North), motorists should take M.B. Rout Road should be used.

Parking will be prohibited on these roads:

SVS Road (from Siddhivinayak Mandir Junction upto Yes Bank Junction)

Keluskar Road (South) and (North), Dadar

MB Raut Marg (No entry zone)

Pandurang Naik Marg (Road no. 5)

Dadasaheb Rege Marg

Lt. Dilip Gupte Marg (from Shivaji Park Gate No.4 upto Shitala Devi Temple Junction)

NC Kelkar Marg (from Gadkari Junction upto Hanuman Temple Junction), Dadar

Notice to vehicles participating in Padwa Mela

Vehicles participating in the Padwa Mela are instructed to leave at the alighting point and proceed to park in the designated parking area.

Western Suburbs: Those coming from Western and Northern Suburbs via WEH should alight at Senapati Bapat Road from Matunga Railway Station to Ruparel College area. Then go for parking at Mahim Reti Bandar, India Bulls Finance Center PPL Parking, Kamgar Maidan and Senapati. Light motor vehicles can be parked at Bapat Road, Kohinoor PPL.

Eastern Suburbs: Vehicles coming from Thane and Navi Mumbai via EEH will drop the participants near Dadar TT Circle and proceed towards Five Gardens, Matunga and RAK Chaupadri Road for parking. Those coming from BA Road should also use the same parking area.

South Mumbai: Vehicles coming from South Mumbai using Veer Savarkar Road will drop the participants at Rabindranath Natya Mandir and proceed to park at India Bulls Finance Center PPL Parking and Appasaheb Marathe Road.
