
Mumbai Police has announced a special traffic restriction (No entry) in South Mumbai on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, in view of the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Mumbai.
According to a reports, strict security arrangements will be deployed in the Gateway area due to the high-level visit. Traffic changes have been made for the safety of citizens.
The main event 'India-France Year of Innovation' is being organized at the Gateway of India. This event is part of the initiative organized by the Consulate of France from February 14 to 22.
Also, the 'India-France Innovation Forum' will be held at the Taj Mahal Palace during President Macron's visit.
This forum will be attended by industrialists, startup entrepreneurs, researchers and policymakers from both countries. Innovation and technology cooperation will be discussed.

Mumbai Police has appealed to citizens to plan their journey in advance, use public transport if possible and cooperate with the traffic police.
The police have also clarified that citizens should be careful as this event is likely to cause a huge crowd in South Mumbai.
