A low-intensity cylindrical blast occurred in Thane’s Rabodi area on Friday morning, November 27. However, no casualty has been reported so far.

The incident took place at around 8:30 am in flat number 104, located on the first floor of the four-storey building named Devdeep society near KV School in Rabodi area in Thane. The flat is owned by David Sarose, informed the official.

Since the flat was vacant during the time of the blast, no one has been injured. However, the intensity of the explosion was enough to damage the walls and doors of the flat. Other items in the flat have also been damaged. Hence, the neighbours informed the police soon after hearing the noise of the explosion, said the officials.

Following the incident, the team of police and fire brigade reached the spot immediately. The team of bomb disposal squad also reached the spot carrying inspection of the flat, following the incident. It is suspected that the explosion could have triggered due to leakage in the LPG gas cylinder.

According to reports, the exact cause of the blast is yet to be ascertained. An investigation is underway, to confirm the same.
